Chinatown

Chinatown Also known as Nankinmachi, Kobe's Chinatown developed as a residential area for Chinese merchants after the port was opened to foreign trade. The area has a nice atmosphere and excellent food.

Kitano Ijinkan

Kitano Ijinkan When the port of Kobe was opened in 1868, a concession for foreign residents was created. In 1980, part of the city's Kitano-cho area was designated as a special preservation zone to protect these unique examples of period architecture. Around 40 buildings have been restored.
